Uses yarn kneaded with CWO®*, ceramic microparticles developed by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., which are also used in heat-shielding films for building and car windows. CWO® has a high near-infrared absorption capacity. - Ultraviolet reflecting yarn
By combining yarn kneaded with titanium oxide, it blocks 98% of ultraviolet rays (test value for fabric only).
Regardless of the amount, ultraviolet and near-infrared rays are present year-round whenever the sun is out. Rather than changing clothes by season, a single garment provides year-round coverage.

Tests by the Kaken Test Center confirm that water droplets are absorbed into the fabric in 1 second and residual moisture drops to 0.1% in approximately 50 minutes (20°C x 65% RH).
The material developer reports that it dries in about half the time of standard polyester materials.
The dimensional change rate after washing is -0.7%, remaining well under 1% (JIS L 1930 C4M/C4H Method A / line drying).
Discoloration against water droplets was Grade 5 for all 10 colors, and color bleeding was Grade 4-5 to 5. The fabric is resistant to color changes and dye bleeding even when wet.

What is CORE SHIELD®?
CORE SHIELD® is a near-infrared protection apparel brand by Phoenix Co., Ltd. that uses Trubeaute®, a special fiber containing CWO®, a near-infrared absorbing fine particle developed by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. Using this special fiber, which blocks 77.1% of near-infrared rays (NIR)—which account for approximately 40% of sunlight and cannot be blocked by sunscreen—our unique design has been verified by a third-party testing agency to provide a 41% heat-shielding rate. Featuring UPF50+ UV protection, a cool-touch feel, and moisture-wicking, quick-drying properties, it supports outdoor activities such as golf, on-site work, farming, and walking. We currently offer inner shirts and hats, with plans to further expand our lineup in the future.

Yes, it is different. Near-infrared rays are a type of light contained in sunlight, accounting for about 42% (wavelengths of 700–1400 nm) of the solar energy that reaches the Earth's surface. Ultraviolet rays account for about 5%. Because their wavelengths are longer than those of ultraviolet rays, they are known to penetrate deep into the skin, reaching beyond the dermis to the subcutaneous tissue and fascia. They are sometimes called "aging rays" because they are involved in skin aging, such as wrinkles and sagging. Since sunscreen and standard UV-protective clothing only provide protection against ultraviolet rays, separate measures are required for near-infrared rays.
The torso has the largest surface area exposed to sunlight. Even with sleeveless styles, covering the torso ensures sufficient protection. If you wish to cover your arms as well, please choose a long-sleeve style.
For those who want to focus on sun protection for their arms, we recommend the long-sleeve version, while those who tend to get hot or are looking for an inner layer to wear under a polo shirt should choose the sleeveless style. We also recommend "owning both" so you can switch between them depending on the climate and occasion.
Many people have experienced the effects firsthand, reporting that "the heat feels less intense," "it was comfortable even in direct sunlight," and "the usual fatigue the next day is gone." While the difference in perceived temperature varies from person to person, it is effective in suppressing the rise in core body temperature, so you will especially notice the difference on days with strong sunshine.

UV rays and near-infrared rays are present year-round. Unlike UV rays, the intensity of near-infrared rays does not significantly decrease during the autumn and winter months. You can wear these comfortably in any season—as a defense against heatstroke and sweat during the warmer months, and as protection against near-infrared rays and sweat-induced chills during the autumn and winter.
Japan is home to many excellent material manufacturers. Unfortunately, however, most products that reach end users—not limited to clothing—are made overseas. We did not want to create products that are manufactured cheaply abroad, consumed in large quantities, and replaced every year.
