About Trubeaute®

Trubeaute®, used in CORESHIELD® fabric, is a next-generation high-performance fiber created by combining threads infused with special ceramic microparticles derived from rare metals, developed by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., which absorb near-infrared rays, with threads infused with titanium dioxide, which reflects ultraviolet rays.

These microparticles are valued for their near-infrared absorption and are used worldwide as a heat-shielding material in window films for buildings and automobiles.

Functional fabric focused on UV and near-infrared rays

Features of Trubeaute®

Sunlight contains UV and near-infrared rays. Trubeaute® is a fabric that blocks both. All values shown were measured on the fabric.

Dual-cut structure for near-infrared and ultraviolet rays

  • UV protection rate: 97% or higher (UPF50+)
  • Near-infrared protection rate: 87% or higher

Trubeaute® is a functional material developed with a focus on the UV and near-infrared rays in sunlight.

At its core are special ceramic microparticles derived from rare metals, which absorb long-wavelength near-infrared rays.

Combined with threads incorporating titanium oxide, which reflects UV rays, Trubeaute® blocks both near-infrared and UV rays.

*UV protection rate: White 97.1% / Black 98.7% (JIS L 1925 / KEKEN Test & Certification Center). Near-infrared protection rate: White 88.6% / Black 87.6% (average over 780–2600 nm / measured by the material manufacturer). All values were measured on the fabric alone.

Low shrinkage, even after washing

  • Dimensional change after washing: −0.3% to 0.0% (White)
  • Pilling: Grade 5 (White)

The functional components are not coated or applied to the fabric surface; they are kneaded into the fibers. They do not wash off with sweat and never need reapplying.

Rare metals are added only in very small amounts, so the fiber keeps its natural texture and stretch.

Dimensional change after washing was −0.3% to 0.0% (JIS L 1930 C4M・C4H Method A / line drying), and the pilling test rated Grade 5 (JIS L 1076 Method A) (KEKEN Test & Certification Center / fabric alone). To keep it in good condition, we recommend using a laundry net and avoiding the tumble dryer.

Dries easily, even when you sweat. Moisture-wicking + contact cooling

  • Water absorbency: 2 seconds (Black)
  • Quick-drying: 3.8% residual moisture after 60 minutes (Black)
  • Contact cooling: q-max 0.123 W/cm² (White) / 0.122 W/cm² (Black)
  • 3D stretch design engineered for ease of movement

In tests by the KEKEN Test & Certification Center, water drops were absorbed into the fabric in 2 seconds (JIS L 1907 drop method), residual moisture after 60 minutes was 3.8% (KAKEN method) (Black, reverse side). Contact cooling was q-max 0.123 W/cm² (White) and 0.122 W/cm² (Black) (reverse side / JIS L 1927). All values are test results for the fabric alone.
