Your face and neck are the parts of your body most exposed to the sun, and the hardest to hide.
The CORE SHIELD® Bucket Hat uses the same functional material, Trubeaute®, as our inner layers.
The full-brim design covers your face, ears, nape, and neck area.
Sunscreen needs to be reapplied every two to three hours.

Sunscreen only protects against about 5% of sunlight
Of the sunlight energy that reaches the earth's surface, only about 5% is ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The remaining 42% is made up of near-infrared rays. Near-infrared rays have a longer wavelength than UV rays and are noted for reaching deep into the skin.
SPF, PA, and UPF are all metrics for UV radiation. There are no metrics for assessing infrared rays. When exposing your face and neck for long periods, you need protection not only from UV rays but also from near-infrared rays.

Fabric that protects against both near-infrared and UV rays
For situations where your face and neck are exposed for long periods, the CORE SHIELD® Bucket Hat utilizes Trubeaute®, a functional fiber that handles both near-infrared and UV rays.
It uses threads that reflect UV rays and threads that absorb near-infrared rays. The fabric combines two types of threads with different functions.
Trubeaute®: Functional fiber that protects your face and neck from the sun
Trubeaute® is a functional material that combines threads containing CWO®, which absorbs near-infrared rays, with threads containing titanium oxide, which reflects UV rays. The hat's fabric itself provides protection against both near-infrared and UV rays.
- Threads that absorb near-infrared rays: Contains CWO®, ceramic microparticles developed by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., also used in heat-shielding films for building and car windows.
- Threads that reflect UV rays: Combined with threads containing titanium oxide.
- Embedded in the fiber: The functional components are embedded directly into the fiber itself, not merely applied to the fabric surface.

Covers your face, ears, nape, and neck
Caps with a brim only in the front leave the back of your ears and your nape unprotected. The full-wrap brim covers the sides and back just as well as it covers the front of your face.
Think about your posture when you're outdoors. When weeding or reading the slope of a green, you look down. In those moments, your nape is facing directly upward. If you look up, your face takes the sun directly.
Protection from every angle. That is the significance of the full brim.
The brim length varies by size from 65 to 75mm, providing ample width for a sun-protective hat. Please check the "Actual Size" table below.
The choice of beige
Black and navy are standard for sun hats, as darker colors are one way to prevent UV rays from passing through the fabric.

The head is easily exposed to sunlight and is a part of the body where heat and humidity tend to get trapped inside a hat. The CORE SHIELD® Bucket Hat features a design to let trapped air escape.

Water-repellent finish sheds sudden light rain
The fabric surface has a water-repellent finish to shed sudden light rain and splashes. It also makes sweat stains less noticeable, increasing its usability outdoors.

Measure your head circumference (one full circle passing slightly above the eyebrows and the most prominent part of the back of the head) and choose the size closest to that measurement. If you fall between sizes, we recommend choosing one size up, as wearing the hat deeper provides wider sun coverage.

- This product is apparel and is not intended to prevent or treat blemishes, wrinkles, or sagging.
- This product does not completely prevent heatstroke. Be sure to combine this with proper hydration, salt intake, taking breaks in shade or cool areas, and other appropriate heat-countermeasures.
- If you feel unwell, do not continue using the product. Stop activity immediately and move to a cool location.
- The water-repellent finish is not waterproof. In heavy rain, water may soak through the interior.
- Machine washable. We recommend using a laundry net to prevent deformation.
